Step 1: Cultivating a Daily Writing Habit

Listen carefully! This is the crucial element of this entire guide. If you overlook this step, you might as well stop reading now. Neglecting this will either lead to failure or extend your timeline to achieve results dramatically.

Since I embarked on my journey with Medium, I have consistently published an article each day (with the exception of one day, but I compensated by writing two articles a few days prior, which still counts as maintaining my daily habit). This commitment has been the best decision of my writing career.

Surprisingly, I only joined Medium 37 days ago. At that time, I had zero followers, no views, and no earnings. Today, I boast 101 followers, 1,135 views, and... drumroll, please... $18.13.

While this amount may seem modest, I'm thrilled by the upward trajectory. Let me illustrate:

• In my initial 10 days, I earned $2.12
• In the following 10 days, I made $2.98
• Over the next 10 days, I accumulated $6.08
• In the past week (the last 7 days), I've earned $6.95

Each 10-day period has brought in more income than the previous one. This progress is entirely attributed to my commitment to writing daily, regardless of my mood.

If you adopt a daily writing habit, I see no reason why you wouldn’t be able to resign from your job within six months (assuming no one else relies on your income; if they do, it might take a year or two).

Once you've identified your niche, write fervently about it every day, and the financial rewards will follow.

Step 2: Engage with the Medium Community

Interacting with the Medium community is essential for enhancing your writing skills and attracting readers to your articles, especially as a newcomer. Aim to read at least three articles for every one you write. By immersing yourself in others' work, you’ll generate a wealth of ideas, making your writing process smoother.

Additionally, by reading content from accomplished writers, you'll naturally elevate your own writing quality.

Getting Readers for Your Articles

In the beginning, Medium may not promote your articles broadly, so you must take initiative. I suggest commenting on every article you read. Make your comments constructive, as a helpful remark can entice readers to check out your profile and explore your work.

Don't forget to share your articles in Medium groups on platforms like Facebook, Twitter, and Reddit.

Step 3: Join Medium’s Partner Program

If you meet the eligibility criteria, you can apply to the Medium Partner Program here. You’ll need to answer a few questions and complete a tax form, and then you’re all set to start earning.
