Chapter 1: The Essence of the Human Monad
In 'Education in the New Age,' Master D.K. articulates the idea that the Solar Logos (the sun) encompassed a portion of the space's substance to fulfill His desires. This act was aligned with His self-realized intentions, demonstrating a voluntary submission to limitations. The human monad, similarly, mirrors this process, choosing to limit itself within the constructs of time and space.
The concept resonates deeply within me. Each individual possesses a human monad, and according to Master D.K., there are approximately 60 billion of these monads. But what exactly is the human monad? It represents a divine spark that collects experiences through the soul, which in turn expresses itself through the personality.
The notion of humanity being created in God's likeness emphasizes equality among all individuals. This idea inspires me immensely.
Upon researching the nature of the monad, I encountered descriptions that resonate with its true essence: it embodies individuality and spiritual existence, containing within it the collective memories and experiences of past lives, each having undergone birth, life, and death (The Art of Synthesis, Alan Leo, pg 19). The human monad serves as the source of all our incarnations, acting as the "Point of Light in the Mind of God" that connects us to the Universal-Creative-Mind-Spirit (Alan Oken, Soul-Centered Astrology, pg 86).
One insightful axiom states: "A stone becomes a plant; a plant, a beast; a beast a man, etc." This reflects the spiritual and physical evolution of humanity on Earth (The Secret Doctrine, II, pg 188). As Spirit ascends, it gradually reclaims its essence, shedding the limitations of matter. By the conclusion of the seventh Race of the Seventh Round, the Monad will be liberated from material constraints, enriched by the experiences and wisdom gained throughout its personal lives, devoid of their negative influences (The Secret Doctrine, II, pg 181).
The "Monadic Essence" initiates a subtle differentiation toward individual consciousness, beginning in the vegetable kingdom. The spiritual essence that animates the monads is what defines them, as opposed to the mere atomic structure which serves as their physical vessel (SD I, pg 179). Leibnitz viewed the monads as fundamental, indestructible units capable of interaction with one another, thus shaping all spiritual and physical phenomena. He coined the term "apperception," which, alongside sensation, describes the state of monadic consciousness across various kingdoms up to humanity (SD I, pg 179).
I aim to explore the intricate relationships between the monad, soul, and personality, as the ultimate aspiration of each individual is to unite with the monad. However, this discussion will primarily address how financial and governmental systems often obstruct this personal development.
Fun Fact 😮
This is the second incarnation of our solar system, known as the Solar Logos, which embodies Love. Its mission is to perfect the principle of Love, the second ray, while the first solar system focused on the Brahma, or the Mind aspect, which perfected the third ray of Active Intelligence. The physical substance we observe is a result of this earlier focus, which is not a principle in itself but should be governed by a higher principle, such as Love. I believe the Law of Analogy applies here; just as individuals reincarnate multiple times, so do the planetary and Solar Logos. Each incarnation carries its own karmic elements, meaning matter is "tinged with karma." The forthcoming solar system will center on the principle of Will (See A Treatise on Cosmic Fire, Master D.K./Alice Bailey).
Chapter 2: The Third Ray of Active Intelligence
Our obsession with material existence has veered into a regression, characterized by materialism. While understanding the physical laws governing matter is crucial, it is equally important to comprehend the internal motivations that lend meaning to our lives.
Individuals influenced by the third ray often display manipulative tendencies, driven by misguided motives and a yearning for fame, beauty, and material success, reflecting their lower self. Conversely, at the soul or higher self level, such individuals strive for right action and harmonious collaboration with the greater whole.
Alan Oken, in 'Soul Centered Astrology,' identifies financiers, bankers, and business professionals as emblematic of these traits. The third ray also encompasses those who engage in abstract thought.
The first video, "How Henry George Shaped Modern Liberalism," provides insight into the influences shaping contemporary thought and governance, connecting economic systems to broader philosophical principles.
The second video, "Exploring The Depths Of Astrology With Rajarshi Nandy," delves into the intricate connections between astrology, destiny, and individual choices, enriching our understanding of the interplay between our spiritual and material lives.
